UNC alum creates stunning mural to honor Dean Smith

Artist and UNC-Chapel Hill alumnus Scott Nurkin wanted to pay tribute to legendary college basketball coach Dean Smith following his death last February, and after more than a year of work Nurkin's breathtaking mural of Smith is nearly complete. 

Nurkin told the Daily Tar Heel he was inspired to create the mural, located on Smith Level Road in Chapel Hill, to honor Smith's profound impact on the community throughout his career.
