UNLV hits 18 3-pointers to beat South Dakota 103-68
LAS VEGAS (AP) Jalen Poyser scored 18 points, Ike Nwamu added 16 points, and UNLV made 18 3-pointers in a 103-68 victory over South Dakota Tuesday night.
It's the second most single-game makes from 3-point range in Mountain West Conference history - and the most since 2011.
Jerome Seagears hit three 3-pointers in the first four minutes of the game to put UNLV (9-4) up 15-2. Seagears finished with 12 points on four 3-pointers.
Back-to-back 3s by Nwamu made it 23-10 and he closed out the end of the half with a 3 at the buzzer to give the Rebels a 51-34 lead. Nwamu finished 4 for 7 from 3-range.
Poyser's 3 with 6:14 remaining extended UNLV's lead to 90-60.
UNLV shot 36 for 62 (58.1 percent) from the field, including 18 for 32 from 3-point range.
Casey Kasperbauer led the Coyotes (7-6) with 16 points.
