UNLV isn't happy Chris Beard is heading to Texas Tech after 1 week
Chris Beard, introduced as UNLV’s new men’s basketball coach a week ago, will be leaving that position for the same job at Texas Tech -- and to no one’s surprise, the Running Rebels are a little miffed.

The Texas Tech job opened up when Tubby Smith left that spot for Memphis earlier this week. The Memphis job opened up when Josh Pastner left for Georgia Tech last week, and now Beard is packing his bags again – for a reported five-year contract.
Beard, 43, who was hired away from Arkansas-Little Rock after leading that school to a 30-5 record and the second round of the NCAA tournament in his first season there, will now be on his sixth job since the 2011-12 season.
Social media reaction to the abrupt exit was swift and skeptical.
