UNLV's Dwayne Morgan out indefinitely, Stephen Zimmerman cleared to practice

UNLV announced on Monday that sophomore forward Dwayne Morgan is out indefinitely with a sprained shoulder.

Morgan, the 6-foot-8 forward, dislocated shoulder during pregame warmups before UNLV's dramatic 102-91 overtime victory over Nevada on Saturday night.

Morgan is averaging 5.5 points and 4.7 rebounds in 19.3 minutes per game this season.

This news comes a day after Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Stephen Zimmerman Jr., a 7-foot freshman center, has been cleared to practice. Zimmerman, a projected first round pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, has missed the past four games with a sprained left knee.

While he is cleared to practice, it is uncertain when he will return to the lineup.

Without Morgan, and with Zimmerman still out, the tallest active player for the Runnin' Rebels is 6-foot-7. Ben Carter, a transfer from Oregon, is out for the season with an ACL tear, and shot-blocker Goodluck Okonoboh transferred mid-season.

UNLV, with a 16-12 (7-8 Mountain West) record, travels to face Boise State on Tuesday night.
