UTSA pulls away early in the 2nd half, beats Bethany 101-77

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Keaton Wallace and Jhivvan Jackson each made five 3-pointers and scored 23 points as UTSA rolled to a 101-77 victory over NAIA-member Bethany College on Monday night.

UTSA (4-7) rebounded from a 12-point loss to Arkansas on Saturday and has won two of its last three games.

Nick Allen added 12 points and a game-high eight rebounds for the Roadrunners, who shot 53 percent from the field. Adokiye Iyaye chipped in with 11 points and Byron Frohnen had 10.

Tyler Larkin scored 21 points on 8-of-17 shooting and Lavaris Duncan had 12 points for Bethany.

UTSA built a 30-18 lead with seven minutes left in the first half but Bethany cut it to 45-37 at the break. The Swedes pulled to 49-42 but Wallace made consecutive 3-pointers and Allen a third to spark a 16-0 run and Bethany didn't get closer.
