NASHVILLE, Tenn. — No. 21 Vanderbilt will be without the Southeastern Conference's top shot blocker for four to six weeks after junior Luke Kornet tore the MCL in his left knee in practice.

The Commodores announced the injury just before tipoff Wednesday night against Dayton.

Kornet was hurt within the first 15 minutes of practice Monday. The 7-foot-1 forward-center has an SEC-high 22 blocks and is averaging a league-best 2.8 per game. He also is averaging 9.5 points and 6.5 rebounds.

Even with the injury, Vanderbilt still has a pair of 7-footers in junior center Damian Jones and graduate student Josh Henderson.
