Vermont sets school scoring record in 122-56 win
BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Robin Duncan had 18 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists and Vermont broke a 61-year-old school scoring record with a 122-56 drubbing of Division III Lyndon State College on Wednesday night.
Vermont's previous high was 116 against Union on Feb. 16, 1957, winning 116-70.
Six Catamounts scored in double digits, including Everett Duncan and Isaiah Moll with 17 points each. Ra Kpedi had 16 points, Bailey Patella 14, and Stef Smith 13. America East Conference scoring front-runner Anthony Lamb grabbed 10 rebounds and Vermont had a 76-28 edge on points in the paint and a 52-26 rebound advantage.
Moll's layup capped Vermont's opening 20-6 run, as eight different Catamounts scored in the first half, and they led 62-35 at halftime. Robin Duncan's layup with 8:03 to play put the Catamounts (2-1) over the century mark for the first time since Dec. 23, 2006 vs. Quinnipiac.
Kevin Love scored 17 points and Ricky Shurford added 15 for the Hornets.
