WATCH: Butler's Roosevelt Jones sinks layup at the buzzer to beat Cincinnati
Roosevelt Jones outworked Octavius Ellis to coral Austin Etherington's full-length pass before forcing his way into the lane for the game-winning layup at the buzzer as Butler picked up a huge 78-76 road victory over Cincinnati on Wednesday night.
Jones finished with 10 points and five assists. Kellen Dunham had a game-high 24 points against one of the best defenses in the country.
Dunham put the Bulldogs up 76-73 with 17 seconds to play. The Bearcats would tie the score in an unconventional way. Jacob Evans missed a three from the top of key, but Ellis grabbed the rebound for the layup and the foul. Ellis, who recorded a double-double of 16 points and 12 boards, completed the 3-point play to tie the score at 76-76 with 4.2 seconds remaining.
