Western Carolina beats Warren Wilson 96-45

CULLOWHEE, N.C. (AP) Elijah Pughsley made three 3-pointers and had a season-high 18 points on Thursday night to help Western Carolina beat Warren Wilson 96-45.

The Catamounts (3-4) never trailed, opening with a 25-12 run, leading 44-22 at half and reaching their largest lead at the final score.

Justin Browning added 11 points, and Torrion Brummitt, Aaron Williams and Devin Peterson scored 10.

Marc Gosselin led Western Carolina with 11 rebounds. The Catamounts outrebounded the Owls 57-26, limiting Warren Wilson to just three offensive boards.

Steven Horton, Jr. had 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting to lead Warren Wilson, but the Owls couldn't overcome shooting 13 of 50 from the floor and 2 of 26 from 3-point range.

Western Carolina extended its record against non-Division I opponents under head coach Larry Hunter to 23-0. Warren Wilson is a member of the United State Collegiate Athletic Association.
