(STATS) - Two Kennesaw State football players are facing charges that include armed robbery from an on-campus incident, and have been dismissed from the team.

Akebren Ralls and Jai'len Edwards were arrested Wednesday night following an alleged robbery at a residence complex at the Georgia university on April 13, reports said. They were charged with accessory to an armed robbery weapon, which is a felony, as well as several misdemeanor charges.

Police also were seeking two other suspects who are not Kennesaw State students.

Ralls, from Forsythe, Georgia, was a starting cornerback as a redshirt junior when Kennesaw State won the 2017 Big South Conference championship and advanced to the FCS quarterfinals. Edwards, a defensive back from Greensboro, Georgia, redshirted as a freshman last season.

In a statement distributed to news outlets, including Fox 5 Atlanta, KSU athletic director Milton Overton said both students were dismissed from the team for violating its code of conduct.
