A look at Mizzou's current recruiting class

Published Jan. 5, 2016 7:09 p.m. ET

At first glance, Missouri's current 2016 recruiting class leaves a lot to be desired.

According to Rivals.com, the Tigers 12-man class ranks dead-last in the SEC. The average star ranking per recruit is an even 3.0.

With a little less than a month until national signing day, new head man Barry Odom and his staff will be scrambling in an all-out sprint to sign as good a class as possible.

While the staff is a bit behind the proverbial 8-ball, there are some talented prospects currently on board.

The two four-star prospects committed to Missouri include junior college running back Natereace Strong and defensive end Tre Williams.

With Russell Hansbrough graduating, Strong could be poised to come in right away and impact the depth chart. Staying in line with the litany of top defensive line prospects to hail from the school, Williams is a player with terrific upside. At 6'5", 220 pounds, the Columbia, Mo. native has the length and speed to contribute right away in obvious pass-rushing situations.

With Odom's staff in place, expect Mizzou to see an uptick when it comes to its recruiting. It can now relay the vision it collectively has for the future of the program to recruits.
