Aggies land four-star running back prospect Trayveon Williams
Texas A&M landed a commitment from one of the top rated running back prospects in the nation as Trayveon Williams pledged to the Aggies Thursday.
A four-star prospect according to 247Sports, Williams decommitted from TCU Nov. 9 and quickly made the switch to the Aggies. So why the switch?
“It all started a long time ago with A&M,” Williams told GigEm247. “I’m just proud to be a part of a good SEC program. They’ve been recruiting me hard since the jump. I’m proud and glad to be an Aggie because they have a plan for me outside of football. It’s exciting.
"It’s been a long bumpy road. It’s really been TCU and A&M from the beginning. They’ve been neck and neck throughout the process. All the respect in the world to the TCU coaches. They are a great program. I just feel like A&M is the best place for me not only on the field, but outside of football. They have all the tools for me to be successful.”
Texas A&M now has 17 total commitments pledged to its 2016 recruiting class, which is projected to be among the best in the nation once again this season.
