Alabama Football A-Day Countdown: Best Bama #72 of All Time
The Alabama Football Countdown to A-Day continues with the best Bama player to ever wear number 72; a surprise from the state of Florida Will Cuthbert.
These days it’s not surprising to hear about Alabama Football taking recruits from all over the country. Nick Saban signed his 7th consecutive number one recruiting class in a row on February 1st and the Tide is rolling in 5 stars from states with big time football programs of their own.
That wasn’t always the way it went down in Tuscaloosa. That’s why top FSU prospect big Will Cuthbert from Fort Pierce, Florida walking onto campus was such a big deal. At 6’6 325 his size alone was imposing but his agility and run blocking ability earned him play time in 8 games as a True Freshman in 1997 according to the Tuscaloosa News.
