Ameer Abdullah listed as 'instant impact rookie'

Published May. 8, 2015 3:36 p.m. ET

Former Nebraska running back Ameer Abdullah has found a seemingly good home in Detroit where he was drafted last week.

The incredibly productive back could be exactly what the Lions needs to keep defenses honest and help quarterback Matthew Stafford. One analyst believes that Abdullah has huge potential this season. According to the NFL Network:

"Abdullah left Nebraska with the second-most rushing yards (4,588) in school history. The very strong and quick back should fill the void left in Detroit by Reggie Bush. He'll make for a great third-down back, as he can catch the ball, run the screen and run the draw. He's a very dangerous runner, receiver and returner."

Husker fans will tell you that Ameer could end up being one of the steals of the draft provided he cleans up the fumbling issues that plagued him early in his career.
