Another Michigan player departing Jim Harbaugh's program

Michigan linebacker Allen Gant announced Friday he will finish his career elsewhere as a graduate transfer.

Gant thanked current Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh and former coach Brady Hoke in a message posted on Twitter.

Gant signed with Michigan in 2012 as a three-star defensive back from Sylvania (Ohio) Southview.

The 6-2, 225-pound linebacker played 18 games in Maize and Blue, including six last season when he had two tackles.

Michigan already lost all three of its starting linebackers to graduation, so the position will have a drastically different look in 2016.

The Wolverines incoming class currently includes three linebackers -- Dytarious Johnson of Prattville, Ala., and Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Flanagan teammates Devin Gil and Devin Bush Jr.

Previously reserves Ross Taylor-Douglas, Terry Richardson and Derrick Green announced they would also be transferring.
