Anthony leads Abilene Christian past Houston Baptist 45-20
ABILENE, Texas (AP) — Luke Anthony threw three touchdown passes as Abilene Christian ran up a big first-half lead and held it to beat Houston Baptist 45-20 on Saturday night.
Anthony had 280 yards passing for the Wildcats (3-4, 2-3 Southland Conference), who snapped a two-game skid. Sema'J Davis ran for 148 yards and a touchdown and Tracy James had 118 yards rushing and another score.
The defense held Houston Baptist to just 53 yards rushing.
Anthony threw a pair of touchdown passes in the first half, one to Josh Fink from 12 yards and one to Clark from two yards, and James added a 30-yard scoring run and the Wildcats led 21-6 at halftime.
Davis opened the second half with a 75-yard touchdown run on first down and Blair Zepeda capped the following Wildcats' drive with a 26-yard field goal for a 31-6 lead with 7:55 to go in the third quarter.
Bailey Zappe threw for 267 yards and a touchdown for the Huskies (4-3, 1-2).
