Anthony, McCrary help Abilene Christian beat SE Louisiana

HAMMOND, La. (AP) — Luke Anthony threw three touchdown passes and Billy McCrary had 14 carries for 222 yards and a score to help Abilene Christian beat Southeastern Louisiana 48-27 on Saturday night.

Anthony was 29-of-37 passing for 295 yards and McCrary was the first Abilene Christian player with at least 200 yards rushing since 2014. Tracy James finished with 18 carries for 88 yards and two touchdowns and Torin Justice had six receptions for 69 yards and two scores for the Wildcats (4-4, 3-3 Southland Conference).

Oscar Hernandez kicked field goals of 33 and 32 yards, James scored on a 15-yard run and Anthony hit Kalin Sadler for a 34-yard touchdown as ACU took a 20-10 lead into halftime.

Chason Virgil's 9-yard TD pass to Nih-Jer Jackson pulled Southeastern Louisiana (3-5, 3-3) within 10 going into the fourth quarter, but James scored on a 2-yard run early in the fourth and McCrary added a 51-yard TD run before Anthony's 14-yard pass to Justice capped the scoring with 6:16 remaining.

Virgil was 30-of-55 passing for 324 yards and two touchdowns for the Lions.
