Arkansas Gets #1 JUCO WR Brandon Martin
Arkansas gets a commitment from Brandon Martin, the number one JUCO wide receiver from Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Arkansas landed another giant commit today after already getting the number one JUCO tight end with Jeremy Patton. According to Dudley Dawson from wholehogsports.com, Brandon Martin committed today and is going to sign tomorrow.
Martin coming from Mississippi Gulf Coast after going to JUCO route. He is listed as being 6-4, 225 and runs a 4.37. If you are anything like me, that 40 yard dash time brings butterflies to your stomach. Arkansas desperately needs that speed. Hello, deep threat.
Brandon has been offered by Arizona State, Iowa State, and Louisville. His SEC offers are LSU, Auburn, Florida and Mississippi State. Getting him over Louisville, LSU, Auburn and Florida is a win in itself.
ESPN has the Monroe, Louisiana native as their number two JUCO recruit in their ESPN JC50 recruiting list. Arkansas is killing it today in terms of landing some high-caliber JUCO talent. Patton is ranked 33rd on the list.
Martin has had a great season at Gulf Coast. In 2016, Martin accumulated 23 receptions and 237 yards and 4 touchdowns. Scout lists his strengths as the ability to beat jams, body control, catching in traffic and hands and concentration. As his areas to improve, they only say he needs to work on quickness off the line. I’ll take that. We’ll update as soon as he inks that paper to make it official. Woo pig!
