Arkansas vs Mississippi State Betting Line

For the first time this season, Arkansas opened as a favorite against a Power 5 opponent at 1.5 points over Mississippi State.

Arkansas hasn’t been favored in a matchup with a Power 5 team all season. That changed with the opening line for the Mississippi State game, however, the money has moved the line.

Currently, as the money comes in, the Bulldogs favored by a point. The predicted score by Oddsshark.com is 30-30. Vegas loves it when the line is moved back and forth by the incoming bets. That said, Arkansas will probably end up being the road underdog on Saturday.

The FPI gives the Razorbacks a 46.3 percent chance of winning against the Bulldogs. The FPI also put Arkansas as an underdog against Auburn, Florida, LSU, and Missouri. The percentage has changed in favor of the Razorbacks for the MIZZOU matchup, giving them a 55.7 percent chance of winning.

It’s important to remember that when Vegas sets an opening line and your team is the underdog, they aren’t disrespecting your team. In the case of the Razorbacks, I’ve seen fans take it EXTREMELY personally. Cheer up buttercup, they are just trying to get people to take the bet. It’s not a reflection if they “like” your team or not.

Hail State got their best win of the season two weeks ago against Texas A&M. There are some variables that set up this win for the Bulldogs like Trevor Knight getting hurt as well as Myles Garrett also getting hurt. Regardless, the Bulldogs found a way to beat a good team. Hopefully, Arkansas can find a way to outscore Hail State since there isn’t an actual Razorback defense. Woo pig.
