Auburn's initial fears have been confirmed, as senior cornerback Josh Holsey has been ruled out for the season after tearing his in ACL last Saturday's contest against Jacksonville State.

The senior started the game against Jacksonville State, however he did not start in the opener against Louisville after starting seven games in 2014. His head coach spoke about losing the senior during his Tuesday media session.

"He is getting it fixed. It is tough on him. He is one of our team leaders, too," Gus Malzahn said. "I know a lot of his teammates are hurting for him. He is still going to be a part of what we are doing. He is still a leader. He is an outstanding young man and represents us the right way. He was looking for a big year.”

Holsey will be eligible to apply for a medical redshirt, however no word on his intentions have been released at this time.
