Not too long ago, an LSU fan started a fundraising page on Go Fund Me to accumulate the money needed to buy out the contract of Les Miles. Now, it’s time for our neighbors in East Alabama, the Auburn Tigers, to do the same thing.
Thomas Downing has gotten the ball rolling to raise the money needed to get rid of Coach Gus Malzahn. He has a lofty goal set for $9 million dollars which is still less than the $13 million-plus needed for the head man plus the assistants per the report on Monday from The Montgomery Advertiser.

Here is what Downing had to say:
Gus Malzahn is a hardheaded, stubborn, unimaginative coach. He has taken a remarkably talented team and has been out-coached, out-schemed, and he’s underdeveloped players, generally leading the team to mediocrity over and over again.
Apparently, our flagship university can’t afford to buy him out of his contract, so I figured if we raised the money then they wouldn’t have any excuse as to why we can’t fire him.
The folks here at Bama Hammer want to start a #StandWithGus campaign. Sometimes, it takes a few years to get things going in a new job and we think that if Malzahn sticks around, the Tigers will just be fine. We will fill you in more on that later in the week.
Some of the comments are exactly what you would expect from an Auburn fan as well. Here are our favorites at the bottom.
