Auburn Football Recruiting: Better Late Than Never
Every year, of course, there are some late names that pop up on the Auburn football recruiting radar. This year, among them, is in-state Hewitt-Trussville wide receiver Noah Igbinoghene, a four-star prospect according to 247Sports, ESPN, and Scout.
Though Igbinoghene has recently made an unofficial trip to Duke (Oct. 20), gotten offered by Ole Miss (Oct. 27), and officially visited Notre Dame (Oct. 29) — and despite just receiving his Tigers offer from wide receiver coach Kodi Burns in-person last weekend — Auburn has become the likely favorite to ultimately land his signature.

Virginia Tech has also offered.
It doesn’t hurt Auburn’s odds that Igbinoghene’s coach at Hewitt-Trussville is Josh Floyd, who played for Gus Malzahn in high school.
With the Auburn coaching staff having several on-field questions to answer for potential recruits coming into the 2016 season — almost all of which have since been responded to in exemplary fashion — signs continue to point to the Tigers closing strong with its class of 2017.
Speaking of closing strong — which seems to be a common theme among Auburn’s athletics programs in recent days — that’s exactly what Clint Myers and his budding softball powerhouse did.
Myers and Auburn inked eight players in signing the No. 2 class in the country per FloSoftball.

“We’re excited about this class,” said Myers. “They’re very talented and athletic. They’re going to make us better.”
Joining her sister Tannon, who transferred to The Plains from Washington in recent months and is likely to start for Auburn next season, is three-time All-American Taylon Snow, a top-five national player.

Both excelled at Chino Hills (Calif.) High.
In addition to Snow, the Tigers added:
Assistant coach Scott Woodard said of the class: “It has players in all four position groups and gives us tremendous depth for the 2018 season.”
