Banks with 3 TDs leads Cornell past Brown 34-16

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Dalton Banks threw for three touchdowns and Cornell beat Brown 34-16 on Saturday.

Banks had 265 yards passing for the Big Red (3-3, 2-1 Ivy League). Harold Coles ran for 141 yards and a touchdown and had a receiving TD. Lars Pedersen caught three passes for 100 yards and a score.

Banks hit Coles for a 27-yard touchdown late in the second quarter and Owen Peters had a short reception for another score and Cornell was up 14-10 at halftime.

The Big Red opened the second half with a nine-play, 75-yard drive capped by a 6-yard touchdown run by Coles to go up 21-10. Early in the fourth, Pedersen scored on a 59-yard pass from Banks to extend it to 28-10 with 14:53 to play.

Brown's Dylan Brady kicked a 37-yard field goal early in the second quarter but missed two other attempts.

Michael McGovern threw for 195 yards for the Bears (1-5, 0-3).
