Chafin was suspended after his arrest, when he and a female student were caught in Oklahoma allegedly bringing back marijuana from Colorado.
The senior was also mentioned in an ESPN Outside the Lines report for allegedly assaulting a woman a number of times in 2014. According to the report, a woman told Waco police that Chafin grabbed her arm and slammed it against a car. This incident reportedly occurred in front of multiple witnesses, and she gave photos of the bruises to police.
The police report also states that the same woman told police that Chafin grabbed her by the throat, slammed her against a wall and then kicked her.
Chafin ran for 1,261 yards and 21 touchdowns during his three seasons with the Bears. This is just the latest incident involving Baylor, which fired football coach Art Briles last week in the wake the football program's mishandling of sexual assault allegations its players dating back to 2009. Since that time, athletic director Ian McCaw and chancellor Ken Starr have resigned, and former Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe has been named an interim replacement for Briles.
