Baylor-TCU will be the game of the year
Can we just skip ahead to Nov. 27?
OK, that's probably a bit rash seeing as how we're not even to mid-August yet, but man, waiting all season for Baylor vs. TCU is not going to be easy.
The game, which will likely be the best in the Big 12 this season and one of the top games in college football as well, could and probably will be a playoff game.
The winner gets in, the loser can go to some lesser bowl game.
Last season Baylor rallied late for a 61-58 win vs. the Horned Frogs when the Bears came from 21 points behind in the fourth quarter, clipping TCU on a last-second field goal. TCU went on to finish 12-1 and Baylor went on to share the Big 12 title. Neither team went on to the college football four-team playoff.
TCU starts the season ranked No. 2. Baylor is No. 4. Oklahoma is the only other Big 12 school among the ranked to start the season.
With that in mind, consider this:
Nobody really believes in Texas, Iowa State and Kansas are not contenders, Oklahoma has quarterback issues, Oklahoma State is an unknown and West Virginia and Texas Tech have issues. Kansas State will also be breaking in a new quarterback.
Sure, something out of the ordinary always happens and sure, we're probably be surprised at some point, but the way it looks right now, the Baylor-TCU game in Fort Worth is going to be pretty special.
Can we skip ahead?
