The Cal Bears are on their way back to the top under coach Sonny Dykes. In Dykes' first year, the Bears went 1-11. Last year, Dykes' second, the Bears improved to 5-7, partially due to the growth of QB Jared Goff. Now, in Dykes' third year, the Bears should be favored to crack the .500 club.
While the Bears expect to play well in 2015, the team is really shining on the recruiting trail. The Bears are off to their best recruiting start in a long time and the 2016 class could be one of the best in recent memory.
The biggest commit this spring has ben safety Shurod Thompson, who is the country's No. 8 safety. The Bears have also brought in two other solid defensive backs: Marquel Dismuke and Traveon Beck.
Offensively the Bears have snagged two QBs: Armani Rogers and Max Gilliam, both of whom are dual-threat QBs. The Bears have also added a strong offensive lineman in Jake Curhan and running back Zion Echols.
