Brian Kelly says Notre Dame believes it's playing 'best team in the country' in Ohio State

The best college football team in America isn’t playing in the College Football Playoff. That’s what Brian Kelly and Notre Dame think, anyway.

The Fighting Irish coach said that he believes Ohio State is “the best team in the country,” Chicago Tribune's Paul Skrbina tweeted on Friday.

Eighth-ranked Notre Dame (10-2) and No. 7 Ohio State (11-1) are set to meet in the Fiesta Bowl on New Year’s Day in Glendale, Ariz.

Ohio State opened as a five-point favorite and the line has moved to 6½ points in favor of the Buckeyes.

Kickoff is at 1 p.m. ET.
