Brian Polian likely to return to Notre Dame

Former Nevada head coach Brian Polian is expected to return to Notre Dame as the Irish’s new special teams coordinator, a source told FOX Sports Friday.

The 41-year-old Polian spent five years at ND on Charlie Weis’ staff, where he proved to be one of the country’s top recruiters. Polian left South Bend and helped Jim Harbaugh build Stanford and then spent a season at Texas A&M. He was 23-27 as the Pack’s head coach and left after the 2016 season as he and the school agreed to part ways.

He is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame exec Bill Polian.
