Briles: QB Stidham 'doesn't look real good' for TCU game

Baylor quarterback Jarrett Stidham, dealing with a bruised back and a leg injury that forced him out of last week's big win at Oklahoma State, is questionable for Friday night's game at TCU, according to Bears coach Art Briles.

With his mobility severely limited, Stidham did not return for the second half against the Cowboys. But the Bears proved they can never be counted out no matter who is under center and directing Briles' explosive offense.

Third-string quarterback Chris Johnson, who had worked at wide receiver since losing the backup quarterback job to Stidham, promptly entered the game and threw two deep touchdown passes to help Baylor roll to a 45-35 win that kept its Big 12 title hopes -- and playoff hopes -- alive.

This week's game at TCU was circled long ago as being the league's likely de facto championship game. But with the Horned Frogs now entering the game with two losses, star receiver Josh Doctson ruled out with a wrist injury and quarterback Trevone Boykin possibly out for a second consecutive game with an ankle injury, the game has lost some of its luster from a national perspective.

Still, it remains critically important to the Bears, who are seeking a third consecutive title, something only Oklahoma has done in the history of the Big 12.
