Bronco Mendenhall to appeal Sae Tautu targeting penalty

Published Nov. 17, 2015 10:45 a.m. ET

As a result of a targeting penalty called against Missouri, starting linebacker Sae Tautu could miss the first half of the Fresno State game due to suspension. Bronco Mendenhall believes the call was questionable at best, and he'll appeal the penalty to get the suspension removed.

“I send in plays every week that I think are questionable and I’ll send it in,” Mendenhall said. “The copy of film that I see ... yeah, I’ll send it in.”

BYU was already thin at outside linebacker, and losing Tautu would be a major blow to the Cougar defense.
