Buckeye who transferred to Duke has no regrets
Jeremy Cash attended ACC football media days this week as an accomplished member of the Duke football team.
The Plantation, Fla., native is not only a returning starter at safety for the Blue Devils but was a second-team All-American last season, and he is expected to cap his college career with another fine season in 2015.
The safety does not have a national championship ring, though. And while that is true of most if not all of the other players in Pinehurst, N.C., this week, Cash is a bit different. He might have had one if not for choosing to transfer from Ohio State after the 2011 season.
Did he watch the Buckeyes beat Oregon in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in January? You bet.
But that does not mean he has any regrets.
"If you're leading to my feelings of the game, I was actually really happy for them," he told reporters, noting several of the players he played with have graduated since the title game. "They actually put in the time and effort that it took to not only get to that point in their career, but to win that game. I don't I guess have any regrets on the decision I made because it was by faith that I ended up here at Duke University and I've had nothing but tremendous success."
Cash and the Blue Devils were picked to finish fourth in the ACC Coastal division this season.
They start the season Sept. 3 against Tulane.
