Bulldogs head into the season at full strength after avoiding offseason injuries

Many teams unfortunately find themselves limping into the season after losing players during camp and offseason workouts, however Mississippi State won't be one of those teams as they head into Hattiesburg at full strength.

"We're actually really healthy, which is good" Dan Mullen said according to the Clarion Ledger. "Right now, we don't have anybody out that's any lingering issues."

For as physical a team as the Bulldogs are, that's pretty remarkable. Heading into the season without many injuries at all will serve the team well as they welcome LSU to Starkville in week two. As for the opener against Southern Miss, Mullen expects to get plenty of young players some game action.

"We want to play a bunch of guys," Mullen said. "Guys have worked hard. When you look at the amount of what guys put in...these guys have put in time to deserve to get on the field to go play."

Mississippi State open the season at Southern Miss on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 10 p.m. ET.
