BYU Cougars zeroed in on stopping Spartan rushing attack

BYU's schedule cools down a bit in the month of November, but sleep on some of these opponents, and it could come back to bite them.

The Spartans have a stud in the backfield, Tyler Ervin. Ervin has 1,159 yards rushing on 193 carries with 12 touchdowns this season. He also has 232 receiving yards to boot. So how do the Cougars plan on slowing him down?

Well, that remains to be seen. But some BYU defenders have high praise for Ervin.

"When he finds a hole, he's going to hit it hard," Rowley said. "He's not one of those guys like UCLA's Paul Perkins who takes two, three, four, five guys to take him down. You can take (Ervin) down, but he's very slippery and hard to get to."
