Cal believes it finally has the confidence to beat Stanford

Published Nov. 18, 2015 8:10 p.m. ET

Two years ago Stanford beat Cal in Palo Alto 63-13 in Sonny Dykes' first year on the job. The team was discouraged, to say the least.

"My teammates' heads were down. We got our (butts) kicked pretty bad by Stanford that day," said guard Chris Borrayo, per the Contra Costa Times. "I just saw everyone's faces were scared."

However, after a successful 6-4 campaign so far in 2015, the Bears believe they have what it takes to finally knock off its Bay Area rival in the Big Game.

"We're now starting to have the confidence that we can come into these big games and win them," said guard Jordan Rigsbee.

The Cardinal and Bears face off in Palo Alto on Saturday.
