Can South Carolina land former Georgia pledge?

Published Jan. 26, 2016 7:16 p.m. ET

On Monday, Rivals.com 4-star receiver Randrecous Davis reneged on his pledge to Georgia. Committed to the program since July, Davis apparently didn't fit into new head coach Kirby Smart's plans heading forward. As such, the Atlanta native has narrowed his focus to Miami and South Carolina.

Superlative when it comes to his quickness and agility, Davis' best fits as a slot receiver. He has the potential to be deadly on shallow crossing routes -- where he can get in space and wiggle away from defenders. Davis could also be productive catching screens, quick passes, and on reverses/jet sweeps.

Davis visited Miami last weekend, and will trip to South Carolina this upcoming weekend -- the last weekend before signing day on Feb. 3.

The talented pass-catcher had been previously committed to Georgia under former head coach Mark Richt. Now the head man at Miami, can Richt ultimately use this preexisting relationship to land himself the impactful skill player?
