Clemson football quarterback Deshaun Watson celebrates his 21st birthday today. Here are three birthday wishes for Watson on the football field.

Deshaun Watson- the face of Clemson football- will celebrate his 21st birthday today.

It has not been the best start to the season for Watson or Clemson football thus far, but everyone is hoping for a change these next couple of weeks.

The team struggled to beat Auburn and Troy and it seems the y have just been sleepwalking.

However, we know just how good Watson can be and I expect him to be back to his old form this week.

Here are our three birthday wishes for Deshaun Watson on the football field the rest of the season.

3. No more drops

As much as Clemson football fans want to say that Deshaun Watson has been off his game, a lot of it has to do with the wide receivers dropping balls.

I know that there are several times in which Deshaun overthrew or under threw guys, but there were also several times that the receivers didn’t do him any favors.

As a matter of fact, if you take out the drops from the Troy game, Watson throws for over 100 more yards.

That means he would have had a better completion percentage and close to 400 yards passing.

Hopefully, the wide receivers can live up to their potential and clean up the dropped balls.

There are some talented receivers, even without Hunter Renfrow in the lineup, and it will be interesting to see if guys like Mike Williams, Artavis Scott, Trevion Thompson, Deon Cain, and Ray Ray McCloud step up.

The Tigers will also need Jordan Leggett to step up in the passing game and become a viable option for Deshaun the rest of the season.

2. A blocking offensive line

I’ll go ahead and tell you, the offensive line has been extremely disappointing to this point in the season.

They have not opened up holes in the run game and they have not pass protected well.

There were several times against Troy last week in which Deshaun Watson was hurried, rushed out of the pocket, or knocked down because of the lack of blocking on the offensive line.

The offensive line is very capable of doing a better job.

It all starts with changing their mentality. They need to take pride in what the do and have an edge and a swagger about them.

When a defensive lineman makes a play, that should get them angry. The next play, they should want nothing more than to pancake him and flatten him on the dirt.

That’s the kind of mentality we need to see out of the offensive line.

If they give Deshaun time, I think that will give him more confidence back in the pocket and will help him to perform at a higher level.

1. Have some fun

This is my No. 1 birthday wish for Deshaun Watson on his 21st birthday on the football field.

You can tell that Clemson football has not had the same amount of fun that they’ve had last season.

Take a look at this highlight video of Deshaun from last season.

He was having fun.

That is what I wish for him more than anything else. If Deshaun Watson never wins a Heisman, I just want him to look back and say he had fun.

That is what matters.

Don’t worry about what other people think and don’t worry about what the pundits say. Go out and play like you are capable of playing and just have a good time.

Those are our three birthday wishes for Clemson football’s Deshaun Watson. Happy Birthday Deshaun and have a great day!
