Clemson football live game thread: Week 7 NC State
Live game thread in comments section below
The Clemson Tigers have a tough game vs NC State this weekend. NC State is a confident team coming off of their upset of Notre Dame. Last season the Wolfpack were able to manufacture 41 points against that stellar Clemson defense. 2016 looks to be a tough game again. The Wolfpack will not go quietly.
NC State is playing well on both sides of the ball coming into this one. The Wolfpack rank eighth nationally in total defense, limiting their opponents to 279.8 yards per game. Also, NC State is
Rob Kinnan-USA TODAY Sports
allowing just 17.8 points per game.
Sophomore quarterback Ryan Finely is having a terrific year, completing 69.5 percent of his passes for 9 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Finely’s efficiency has allowed the Wolfpack offense to average 34.0 points per game this season.
At the end of the day, the talent gap is to large for the Wolfpack to overcome. Clemson’s size and depth along the defensive line will smother the NC State offense as the game progresses. Also, Clemson’s skill positions will have no problem winning their one on one battles on the edge.
Dabo Swinney will likely be all over his team as this is there last game before facing Florida State on October 29. The urgency will be apparent in both the coaches and players.
