College football odds: Texas A&M a rising favorite over Arkansas
The Texas A&M Aggies are 4–0 straight up and 2–2 against the spread in their last four games against the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Aggies will look for another win over their conference rival Saturday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Texas A&M is a six-point betting favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The opening line had the Aggies going off at just minus-three, but action on Texas A&M has moved the line three full points.
Hot starts have been commonplace for the Aggies in recent seasons as they has gone 12–0 SU and 9–3 ATS in their last 12 games played in August or September. This season has been no exception as Texas A&M has jumped out to a 3–0 SU and ATS start with impressive wins at home against UCLA and on the road against Auburn. With games against Tennessee and Alabama looming in October, the Aggies hope to avoid a costly slip-up this week.
Texas A&M was a 2.5-point underdog in last week's 29–16 win over Auburn. In the Aggies’ last eight games coming off an upset win, they are 7–1 SU and 6–2 ATS per the OddsShark College Football Database.
Arkansas stumbled out of the gate with an uninspiring 21–20 home win over Louisiana Tech. But the Razorbacks have looked sharp since with a 41–38 upset victory on the road against TCU as a 10-point underdog and a 42–3 rout at home against Texas State last week.
Since starting the 2015 season off 2–4 SU and 3–3 ATS, the Razorbacks are 9–1 SU and 7–3 ATS over their last 10 games. They are 6–1 ATS in their last seven games against teams with winning records.
The total for Saturday's betting matchup is 49.5 points. The UNDER is 7–1 in Texas A&M's last eight games and 9–3 in Arkansas's last 12 conference games.
Four of the last six games between these two teams have been decided by a touchdown or less. Texas A&M has won each of the last four games against the Razorbacks by at least seven points, but on paper this one doesn't figure to be a blowout in either direction.
