College football referee shows off his impressive speed during fumble return
Illinois had trouble keeping up with Northwestern this past weekend, as the Wildcats took home a decisive 42-21 victory over the Fighting Illini in the intrastate battle. One person who did not have trouble keeping up with the Wildcats, however, was the game's center judge, Bryan Banks.
During the contest, Northwestern defensive back Godwin Igwebuike scooped a fumble and took off into the open field toward the end zone at the other end. Banks did the same, engaging in what almost looked like a dramatic foot race to the other end of the field. It was quite amusing.
Even though Banks had a bit of a head start and still ultimately got outran by Igwebuike, it was certainly impressive to watch an official showcase that kind of athleticism and speed down the field. He saw a chance to grab some glory, and he turned on the jets.
Unfortunately, the fumble return was wiped out due to a penalty on the play, so the touchdown was taken off the board. Luckily for Banks, those wheels can't be nullified.
This referee has WHEELS. ??
