Condado late FG gives Nicholls 27-24 win over SE Louisiana

HAMMOND, La. (AP) Francisco Condado booted a 40-yard field goal with no time remaining as Nicholls closed out the season with a 27-24 win over Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday night.

With the game tied at 24-24 Landry Klann led Nicholls (3-8, 3-6 Southland) on a 56 yard drive to give Condado a chance from the 23. Condado, who had made a 45-yard field goal earlier, was on the mark.

Tobias Lofton ran for 147 yards as Nicholls dominated the second half after trailing 17-3 at the break.

Nicholls charged back quickly when the second half opened as Lofton broke for a 62-yard scoring run early in the third quarter. Klann then ran in from the 6 to tie the game at 17-17 with 9:06 remaining in the third. Michael Henry scored on a 2-yard run for a 24-17 lead in the final quarter.

Julius Maracalin rushed for 121 yards to lead the Lions (4-7, 3-6).
