Crimson Tide vs. Ole Miss: The Best Tweets Of The Game
Social media was one roller coaster of a ride when the Crimson Tide took on Ole Miss. Luckily, we are here to navigate you through it all.
ICYMI: Some Surprising and Not So Surprising Stats in 2016
Perhaps my favorite part of the social media era is that we can all hold people accountable for saying things that are, well, dumb. Everything is on record. Before kickoff, Ole Miss defensive lineman DJ Jones had some interesting things to say about beating Alabama.

Ole Miss defensive lineman DJ Jones seems to be pretty confident. Damn he's gonna be disappointed after today pic.twitter.com/09taW4aANN

Poor Alabama. If you ignore the fact that the Crimson Tide is 48-11-2 all-time against Ole Miss, then sure, Alabama has to play and lose to Ole Miss every year. History, truth, and facts always get in the way, DJ.
A few of Alabama’s current players were active on Twitter before the game.
We were just minutes away from kickoff on CBS, and the new Garth Brooks intro song was played. While the human race mostly loves Garth, this particular song was not a fan favorite.
After the game started and Garth was removed from the minds of college football fans, the Crimson Tide offense started off slowly. True freshman Jalen Hurts was making his first road start in the SEC, and while it took a moment for the young star to settle in, I found possibly the worst tweet of the day.
Jalen Hurts ended up winning the SEC Offensive Player of the Week Award after accounting for 304 totals yards.
As we all witnessed, the officiating crew missed two critical calls on an Ole Miss defensive touchdown in the first half. When even Clay Travis acknowledges that Alabama was hosed, it’s a bad sign for the crew. Former Tide offensive lineman Austin Shepherd chimed in as well.
While the defense eventually buckled down, Reuben Foster looked like a human missile crushing Chad Kelly on a QB run.

The comeback was on. The happiness of Auburn fans dwindled with the Ole Miss lead.
Nevermind. THIS was the worst tweet of the day. But let’s be honest, Dan is wrong about Alabama so much that this type of tweet on a Saturday has become the norm. He wasn’t alone with the first half “Ole Miss just has Alabama’s number'” tweet, though. Ole Miss must have accidentally deleted their contact list at halftime.
Okay. THIS is actually the real worst tweet of the day. It can not be topped.
I wouldn’t say “not that good.” But Hurts isn’t ready to go on the road and do this right now against a good team https://t.co/yNaeNLdEAr

It’s like Dan purposely sets out to be wrong about Alabama every year.
The Crimson Tide completed a massive comeback on the road, and former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy loves what he’s seen out of Jalen Hurts.
Ken Stabler’s daughter Kendra was watching closely as well, just a day before John Madden spoke to Raider fans at halftime about her father.

After the game, current players, former players, writers, and fans all addressed the victory.
Blessed to be apart of this team… Great team win ???????? #RollTide ????

Just another routine win. I'm exhausted. #RollTide
