Dak Prescott led the Dallas Cowboys to a 27-23 win Sunday over the Washington Redskins.
In a game that had about as many implications as a week 2 game can have, Dak Prescott was every bit the leader Dallas needed him to be. Had the Cowboys lost they would’ve fallen to 0-2 with both losses coming to division rivals. Only 12% of NFL teams that start 0-2 since 1990 go on to make the playoffs. So the Cowboys needed this one.
In the first half, Dak led the Cowboys on three scoring drives. Two of those ended in field goals and the other was a Zeke Elliot touchdown run. After a 13-10 Dallas lead at halftime, Washington would take the lead on their firs time drive of the second half. Dak would respond on the next Dallas drive by going 3-4 for 35 yards and scoring on a 6 yard touchdown run.

Washingtion would regain the lead thanks to a fumble by Elliot but Dak answered again. He led another scoring drive by going 4-5 for 54 and setting up a Alfred Morris touchdown. That drive put the Cowboys up for good and they held on to win 27-23.
Prescott’s final line was 22-30 for 292 yards and the one carry for a six yard touchdown. His quarterback rating was a very good 103.8. Much like his debut, Dak was everything the Cowboys needed him to be.
One of the complaints I read about Dak in week one was that he didn’t get Dez Bryant involved. That’s out the window after this week as the star wideout ended the game with 7 catches for 102 yards. The most impressive thing to me is how poised Dak appears. He isn’t making mistakes. He’s not caving under the pressure. The moment’s not too big. But us Bulldog fans already knew that.
During husband time at Mississippi State, Dak rewrote the record looks. On Sunday, he officially enters the NFL books.
