Dak Prescott wins SEC Offensive Player of the Week award
Mississippi State signal-caller Dak Prescott had one of the most impressive games of his career this past weekend in the 42-16 victory over Kentucky.
The senior quarterback out of Louisiana finished 25-of-35 for 348 yards and three touchdowns. For good measure, he also rushed for 117 yards and three touchdowns. Accounting for over 450 yards of total offense and six touchdowns, he was the easy choice for the SEC Offensive Player of the Week award.
Inexplicably flying under the radar nationally, Prescott is having a fantastic 2015 year.
The senior has thrown for 2,048 yards and 14 touchdowns on the year. Prescott has also taken care of the ball, plagued by only one interception through the first eight games of the season.
This season, he had a stretch in which he completed 288 passes in a row without an interception. The mark is good for the third-most all-time in SEC play.
Based upon his statistical output this year, there's no question he should be considered as a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate.
