Dartmouth tops Columbia 28-12 with strong second half

NEW YORK (AP) — Rashaad Cooper ran for 82 yards and a touchdown that led to 21 unanswered points in the second half and Dartmouth rolled to a 28-12 victory over Columbia on Saturday in Ivy League action.

The Big Green (6-0, 3-0) remained unbeaten when Cooper capped a nine-play, 75-yard drive with an 8-yard TD run at 11:21 in the third quarter for a 14-6 lead. Dartmouth used a trick play — wide receiver Drew Hunnicutt connecting with quarterback Derek Kyler for a 21-yard TD pass just eight seconds into the final quarter to make it 21-6. The Big Green capped their scoring on Kyler's 16-yard TD toss to Connor Rempel.

Chris Alleyne kicked two field goals and Ryan Suitt connected with Ryan Young for a 10-yard TD with 18 seconds left in the game for the Lions (3-3, 0-3).

Dartmouth piled up 250 yards on the ground, while holding Columbia to 86 yards rushing.
