David Beaty 'holding up great' after tough start to season

It may be sad for Kansas football fans that it's come to this point, but by most standards, the question asked at head coach David Beaty's press conference was valid given his team's 0-2 start to lackluster opponents.

“I’m holding up great,” Beaty said with enthusiasm in his voice. “I’m still very, very excited about our football team. There’s a lot of things that we learned about our team in the last two weeks that are going to help us moving forward.”

Kansas got blown off the field 55-23 in Week 2, and they lost to an FCS school the week before. The Jayhawks have surrendered 7.38 yards per play so far, which ranks 126th out of 128 schools.

“There’s some things we can build on, but there’s obviously some things that are giving us problems,” Beaty said. “The good news is, all those things we saw on tape are all fixable. We’ve just got to be willing to step up and do them.”
