Dawgs land commitment from four-star athlete Devonta Smith

The Georgia Bulldogs continue to reel in elite talent to their 2017 recruiting class with the latest addition of Louisiana native Devonta Smith. 

Considered a top 100 prospect in the nation, Smith is rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports and holds offers from LSU and Ole Miss with Alabama, Baylor, Clemson and Miami holding interest in Amite, La., prospect. 

Smith spoke to 247Sports to after committing and talked about why he chose the Bulldogs.

"I love Georgia, they have family environment," Smith said. "I have a bond with the coaching staff and I really like the academics!"

"Getting the news that I earned an offer from Georgia was great, because I know at Georgia I will be well taken care of and coaches that will look out for my best interests," Smith said at the time. "Athens is a nice place. The campus is beautiful. Georgia is a school I can see myself going to."

Smith becomes the third commitment in the Bulldogs 2017 class, joining top quarterback prospect Bailey Hockman and athlete Deejay Dallas.
