Deacons Janvion named to preseason watch list

Wake Forest safety Ryan Janvion has been named to the Lott IMPACT Trophy watch list, making him one of 42 players to receive the honor.
The trophy is named after former NFL Hall of Fame safety Ronnie Lott and was founded in 2004. According to Wake Forest’s website, "The Lott Trophy is the first and only college football award to equally recognize athletic performance and the personal character attributes of the player.”
Janvion, a rising junior, recorded a team-high 115 tackles last year and is the first Wake Forest player to lead the team in tackles as a freshman and sophomore since Jon Abbate did it in 2004-05.
