Despite losing, Rich Rodriguez isn't changing his defense

Arizona's defense has been one of the worst in college football during the last two weeks, but coach Rich Rodriguez doesn't have plans to change his scheme.

The Wildcats, playing without injured star linebacker Scooby Wright and other key defenders, have had trouble making tackles during their last two games. Arizona uses a "3-3-5" odd stack defensive scheme; it's been the subject of much criticism after allowing 56 points to UCLA and 55 points to Stanford.

"Just about 90 percent of the teams run some three-man front, either wholly and partially, so I don’t think it’s the scheme," said Rich Rodriguez, according to AZCentral.com. "Trust me, the defensive staff is trying to put the guys in position to make plays. We’re not going to give up.”
