Dismissed WR Duke Williams apologizes to Auburn, fans
The bar brawl incident that finally pushed Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn beyond the point of return was certainly a sad closing chapter in Duke Williams' career with the Tigers, but the troubled receiver at least took the time to apologize and say his goodbyes Tuesday.
Williams' time on the Plains will likely be remembered for the massive talent left unrealized on the field more than anything else. The former five-star recruit occasionally flashed the talent that made him one of the most coveted junior-college prospects in 2014, however Williams was never able to put it all together on and off the field.
The receivers best shot at redemption will likely come from the next level of football, as Williams is likely to be drafted in the 2016 NFL Draft.
