Dolegala, Nash lead CCSU to 8th straight, 42-14 over RMU (Nov 18, 2017)
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) Jacob Dolegala passed for three touchdowns, Cameron Nash ran for three and Central Connecticut State heads into its first FCS playoffs with an eight-game winning streak after a 42-14 win over Robert Morris on Saturday.
The Blue Devils (8-3, 6-0 Northeast Conference), the first team to go unbeaten in league play since 2008, clinched their playoff berth win a dramatic come-from-behind 28-27 win over Duquesne last weekend. This is the first time they have won eight straight in a season and they are one short of the school record in 1954-55. CCSU has scored at least 25 points in eight straight.
Nash ran for 140 yards on 26 carries, hitting the end zone from 13 and 50 yards in the first half and closing the scoring on a 5-yarder in the fourth. He has 1,003 yards for the season and 2,311 for his career.
Dolegala, who was 11 of 24 for 182 yards, had a 7-yard TD pass to Courtney Rush, a 29-yarder to Xavier Bass in the second quarter for a 28-7 lead and found Rush for a 25-yard score in the third.
Jimmy Walker threw a pair of touchdown passes for the Colonials (2-9, 0-6).
